Time for applying for fellowship
 
Hello, I'm going to start the list of interview invitations and dates. I'm a US grad with absolutely no research so I'm kinda nervous. Good luck everyone!

How competitive is endo fellowship and whats the income like compared to cards and GI?

Ya you definitely can't compared endo to GI or cardio. Is not as competitive to get a fellow spot, but if you look at each year match results, more people are applying to the field because of the quality of life.

It's mid-tier competitive (below cards, GI, hem/onc, pulm). Median income seems to be about $220-230k, can vary a bit depending on location. Academics pay much less than that obviously.

I got two interviews. University of Iowa and University of Oklahoma 7/21

Endo actually has the least salary compared to other IM specialties according to Medscape

I just looked through their website - seems pretty small, 5 attendings, 1 fellow. Not sure if they offer much research. Don't know anything else about them.

I interviewed there in the past and wasn't very impressed. Small program, facilities seemed old, didn't get good vibe. Before I was offered an interview, the program director wanted a phone interview and asked some "interview 101" questions like describe a challenging situation and how you dealt with it. That kinda put me off. Fellows are predominantly international
 
anyone heard anything from Chicago area ?
 
Has anyone gotten any interviews these past couple of days? In worried I have none :(
 
More like this past one week. Looked back at prior forums, looks like a bunch came around the first week of August. Fingers crossed everyone.

Any news from Illinois, Pennsylvania, or Ohio?
 
I haven't heard anything from Illinois yet and I applied to all the programs in the state. not sure about pen or ohio. I wonder how accurate this list of invites is since it seems like there aren't many people updating it. Should we keep doing it?

It helps the rest of us know where invites have been sent and where to loose hope. Another resident in the program got an invite for University of Mississippi
