1st interview!!!!!
School: A&M
Notified: 10/31/16 by email
Residency: TX
Interview Date: Dec 9th!!
GPA: Science: 3.56, overall undergrad: 3.71, current grad gpa: 4.0
DAT: 20AA/23RC/21PAT/19Sci (16Chem,20Bio,21OChem)/19 QR
I submitted in may, but retook my DAT in july and scores were sent out in mid-august.

So excited!!! I attend the UNT HSC in fort worth and i know that Texas schools like to offer later interviews for people in grad school so they can see how you handle the curriculum!

Congrats! I have roughly the same stats and am still waiting to hear from them!!

Someone earlier in the thread said they are offering interviews to all Texas residents, do you know anything about this?

I've never heard that, but I kinda doubt it. Usually around 1500+ apply to A&M, and it's usually just around half and half of out of state and TX residents. Over the last few years it's been roughly 800 or so TX residents, so I definitely doubt everyone gets an interview since the whole point of interviews is to help start narrowing down some! You can check the matriculation stats for A&M on their website if you wanna see the breakdown!
If it helps at all, I was a dental assistant for a couple of years in college and a treatment coordinator at a pediatric office, so if you've got some good ECs and work and similar stats then an interview is probably around the corner!

Yeah I thought that was strange but they seemed confident haha.

I am currently a dental assistant and have been for about 2 years! So hopefully that gets me somewhere. Thanks for the cheerleading :D

Per ADA application guidebook for this cycle there were approximately 300 in state interviewed at A&M. That's out of about 1000 applications IS.

Again, ballpark numbers, but whoever said that they interview all Texas residents was wrong.

Yeah I thought that sounded like a LOT of interviewing. Hopefully I will still hear from them anyways :D

Can't believe I got 2 interview invitations on the same day. Last year I was interviewed at UT houston but did'nt get in (my one and only interview) My DAT for last year was AA 19 TS 19 PAT 22. I admit that this year is kind of slow because last year I submitted my app on the same day as this year and got the interview invitation on 10/05. For those who haven't had interviews yet, don't lose hope, they are still sending out invitations. Best of luck to you all.

Possibly, depending on how I would have felt during info sessions! The positives would have been the prospect of in state tuition after one year (I now only have very expensive options available to me) and being closer to my SO who lives in Portland, OR. Really just applied as a WTH why not, we'll see what happens, knowing chances were slim as an OOS applicant :) . But to really answer your question, maybe yes, but probably just because of money!

Hey...my mail out date was 8/12. I think my supplemental complete date was 8/26

I have a 3.4 GPA/22AA/22TS/21PAT

I'm also a non trad student with 4 years of work experience (non dental related) as well as a lot of shadowing hours and volunteer hours.

Hey for all wondering about the Texas schools, I just got back from my interview at Houston a few days ago and apparently they are running slower than usual this session. They said that they probably wouldn't be finished with their interviews until the end of January. Also, they said that they will not be sending all offers out on Dec 1st so they can save some spots for the Jan interviewees. So stay positive!!
