Does anyone know how many characters/words the Rocky Vista questions are limited to?

University of North Texas Health Science Center also had these questions:

If you attended more than two colleges/universities, explain why.

Do you consider yourself financially disadvantaged? If yes, please explain.

Do you consider yourself educationally disadvantaged? If yes, please explain.

(There wasn't a character limit stated on these questions).

Hey guys, just looking for a little bit of guidance in terms of essay writing. How do you approach the questions of "Why should we choose you" and "why do you want to go to our school specifically?" Are you just listing characteristics that you feel they value and show through examples? And for the why that school, what are some reasons you have given, and do you simply look at their mission statement and other information on their website and the CIB in order to construct something that you think they want to hear?

Yes, talk about how you are unique and why those unique qualities will help improve the school. And yes, that's a fine way to answer "why this school" but you may also want to do a little more research to see if you really would like to attend that school. I know the mentality is "I'll go anywhere that will take me" but at this point act like you have multiple acceptances and learn about each school in order to decide which you would choose. It makes for a much more genuine answer.

Does anyone know character (with or w/o spaces) or word limit for Midwestern AZCOM, Ohio, and Oklahoma? I'd appreciate it! :D

Hey Night Hawk, I think you might want to update the secondary info. for Pikeville (KYCOM) when you can. This is what I'm seeing on the application:

Statement of Purpose: Please explain why you should be selected for training as a primary care, rural osteopathic physician. Please also explain why you are applying to KYCOM for osteopathic medical education and why you believe you will be a successful KYCOM medical student. (1-2 pages maximum)

Here is the essay question for WVSOM from last year. Hope it's still helpful :)

Please state your reasons for wishing to become an Osteopathic Physician and why you feel WVSOM should consider you as a member of this year's class.

Please forgive this rediculous question. Are secondaries a typical part of the process, or can one be accepted without provided this monotonous information? I searched what are secondaries and nothing came up. Lol

Can I say that in my personal statement and not sound corny? Here is the sentence: Also, becoming a physician would mean that my childhood dream has been (or is) accomplished.

I know this thread might be for this type of question but I just want a feedback before I submit.

Honestly, I am having trouble answering this. I maintained a high GPA throughout university that came along with dedication, determination and good work ethic - which will be carried over to medical school. That is what I have to talk about. Is there something I am missing? What do other pre meds do to prepare?

I am having the same trouble. I was thinking of putting something about having relaxation techniques to avoid stressing out? But with only two prompts, I feel like I should be writing a few paragraphs on this topic at least... Any other ideas?

Does anyone know what Touro NY's secondary prompt looks like yet?

Shout out to Night Hawk for keeping up on this thread. I may have started it, but he's the real daddy. I don't even pay child support. ;)

Anyone have Touro NY's prompt?

I found this on last year's thread..

Please discuss how your background, experience or academic program has prepared you for meeting the TouroCOM Mission, Goals or Objectives. Please limit your essay to 2 pages. On a separate sheet of paper, consider addressing a few areas; Why Osteopathic Medicine? Why Harlem? Have you been exposed to a diverse environment? How did you contribute? How has your academic background and personal experiences prepared you for medical school? Can you express how you were influenced by a shadowing experience?

Are my secondary essays too short?

I'm working on my secondaries tonight. For some of the questions I think that I have adequately answered them in just 300 words. Does that seem too short?

Don't worry about the length. Just be concise and thorough.
