hey again,
can anyone tell me if these 12mo omfs internships require letters of recommendation? if so, who should write them? the same ppl who'd write the letters if you were applying to the actual residency? or can these lor's for the internship come from "lesser known" ppl? parkland's website didn't mention anything, but umdnj's did, so a little confused. please help~

Applicants for these 1-year internships 90% of the time had already applied for actually residency spots, but did not match. In result, the programs already had their application materials (letters, board scores, etc.) on hand.

Now if you plan to only apply to internship (transitional) positions, then usually the same materials are required as if you were applying to a regular residency (categorical) spot such as 3 letters of recommendation, personal statement, board scores, etc.

Strong letters usually comes from the Dean of your dental school (great), OMFS Chairman of your dental school (great), OMFS faculty members in your dental school (great), OMFS Chairmans or faculty members from another dental school (great) or the President of United States (great!).

Letters can also come from private practice OMFSs (OK) or Chairmans or faculty members of other dental departments (OK).

Letters SHOULD NOT come from private practice non-OMFS specialists or dentists (no good), OMFS residents (no good) or medical physicians (no good).

Hope this helps.

So I'm thinking Plan B if I don't match.

How do I get the letters from PASS to be forwarded to the internships when I didn't apply to them in the first round. Any ideas anyone?
