Optics and eye...help please!!!

I posted this in the physics question forum a couple of days ago and no response so hopefully someone who can help me out will explain it to me.

Okay, I searched, but I didn't find it, it could be there. However, if I could get some help with the eye and optics I would greatly appreciate it! I always miss questions reguarding farsightedness or nearsightedness and what kinds of lens are needed to correct the problem and why(how they work, and in relation to where the image is formed before and after on the retina ect...)? could you help me out and explain the eye and optics concepts here? Thanks!!!
