Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Board Review Program Summary
LSU's Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Review Course emphasizes critical areas of surgery with scientific support and prepares surgeons and residents for specialty examinations. All lectures in this Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Board Review stress the techniques used and the scientific justifications for those techniques. This educational activity was developed based on previous course evaluations, input from course leadership, advisory committee input, and a review of current issues and topics in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery.

Course Objectives
After viewing this course, participants should be able to identify, define, understand, and discuss the following areas of OMS and cosmetic maxillofacial surgery: preprosthetic surgery; dental implants; distraction osteogenesis principles; the medial risk patient; TMJ; mandibular and maxillary fractures; facial skin rejuvenation; dentofacial deformities; oral and maxillofacial infectious diseases; dentoalveolar surgery; maxillary and mandibular reconstruction; blepharoplasty and upper and lower facial rejuvenation; rhinoplasty and otoplasty; the trauma patient; soft tissue injuries; obstructive sleep apnea; craniofacial syndromes; anesthesia; orthognathic/cosmetic surgery; the cleft lip and palate patient; and oral, head and neck pathology.
Method of Participation
This educational activity was planned for oral and maxillofacial surgeons and residents. Each activity is in video and/or audio format and along with the electronic course syllabus should be reviewed and read by the learner. In addition, the learner completes a combined CDE and CME post-test and a combined CDE and CME evaluation form. It should take the average learner about 44.5 hours to examine the syllabus and observe the video and/or audio. CDE and/or CME credit is obtained upon successful completion of a post-test and an evaluation form. For CDE credit a $30 processing fee must accompany the completed exam and evaluation application.
