Looking for advice from anyone who has had success setting up their owns rotations outside of their pharmacy school state (without any affiliations with the school) - how did you go about approaching the site/preceptor so they would actually want to take you on over other potential students?

Call, walk in, get to know them, or have friends that know them. I set up a critical care rotation and an institutional rotation out of state by just calling/emailing them and getting to know them.

Then talk to your coordinator so they can get the contracts set up.

Honestly, I just called the Pharmacy Manager and asked them if they'd consider an out of state person. They said yes, paperwork was filled out and all set! Some sites may have preferences for local schools but most don't.
