Overnight retail jobs in California....

I read in another discussion thread that the schedules for overnight pharmacists at chains like cvs/walgreens in California do not follow a 7 on/7 off schedule, as in most other areas. Can someone clarify? My understanding was that most CVS stores follow a 7x12 hr/ 7 off schedule, and most Walgreens stores follow a 7x10 hr/ 7 off schedule. I am currently looking for a 7 on/ 7 off job, as it provides the best work-life balance for me. I wondered if this is still an option with retail chains in California. Also, what type of schedule do part-time and full-time overnight floaters typically work? I appreciate your help!

From my understanding, pharmacists in CA who worked for CVS sued CVS for not getting overtime when working 7 on 7 off. These pharmacists won the lawsuit. Now, because of this and because California has very strict labor laws, don't ever expect a 7 on7 off RPh job in CA again. Anybody on here correct me if I'm wrong please.

The way I see it, CA pharmacists fought for something stupid that wound up hurting them in the end.

Farmadiazepine, thanks so much for your response! Do you know how the chains are scheduling overnight shifts, if not 7 on/7 off? Also, I've seen several listings for 7 on/7 off hospital jobs recently in CA. Are hospitals changing their scheduling policies, as well?

I'm currently looking into this as well. I currently work in CA in retail but not overnight and I've only seen hospital jobs give 7on7off schedules. From what I know from talking to the overnight pharmacists in my district is that retail chains like CVS and Walgreens have you work 4 on 5 off or 5on 4 off. I'm curious have you found anything yet?
