Strongyloides stercoralis

round worm

south Asia

filariform larvae infects humans by penetrating the skin and traveling to the lungs (forming cutaneous lesions on their way) and gaining access to pharynx then swallowed. in the intestine the filariform larvae matures into the adults form and lay eggs. these eggs hatch in the intestine and form the nonInfectious larvae form called Rabtiditiform larvae. which ultimately is excreated into the feaces and gets converted into filariform larvae in the soil and infect humans again.

vomiting , diarrhea, abdominal pain and rarely anaphylactic shock if the worm burden is too much

diagnosis made by visualizing Rabtidiform larvae in stool or eggs and adult form in intestinal tissue
