Hello All!
Can anyone help what improves patience compliance and what are the poor compliance factors that a pharmacist face up while dispensing medicines?
For Poor Compliance I came up with:
Forgetfullness (a big problem with Dementia)
Cost of Medicine
PolyPharmacy (a problem especially in elderly patients)
Difficult Regimens
No beneficial effect (drugs taking long to act)
Side-Effects
Restrictions (For Example with Tetracyclines cannot spend much time in the sun or cannot drink milk for at least 2 hours before taking the medicine)
To Improve compliance I came up with:
Patient Education
Choose cheaper Medication
Where possible choose dosage forms that are more comfortable.
Are there more? Please help me and if you can give me examples with medicines like I did with some of them but I can't thing of others.
Thank you
