Looks like PCOM is renovating to offer on campus housing
Just got this email from our President
To the PCOM Community:
Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine announced plans today to provide on-site housing for our medical and graduate students. The college has issued a request for proposals for the development and management of this housing.
In order to offer those accommodations, Overmont House, a subsidized housing facility located at 4001 Monument Road on our campus, will close as of April 30, 2017, and the building will undergo renovations to allow for this new use.
The well-being of the residents of Overmont House is of utmost importance to the College, and PCOM administration is working closely with the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to ensure the smooth transition to replacement housing for the Overmont residents. Current tenants have been given more than a year’s notice in advance of the closing, and an experienced relocation specialist has been hired to work directly with residents and their families to ensure that all of their needs are met. Tenants will be offered placement in a similar building or issued a HUD voucher to assist with rent payment in a private rental facility. All moving services will be provided and paid for by Overmont House.
More details on the plans for our new medical and graduate student housing will be made available once the College has selected a developer and building plans have been solidified.
