Please Define Campaign Unity

Will some one please define campaign unity for those of us outsiders? I went to the website and it seemed to be for those who already know a bit about it.

Basically, its a way for the osteopathic profession to strengthen ties among its component members-- the specialty societies, the American Osteopathic Hospital Association, colleges of osteopathic medicine, etc--and work together in a coordinated fashion to increase public awareness of the osteopathic profession.

You can get a good overview on page 19 in the August 16 edition of the American Medical News (the AMA newspaper).
