I took the DAT last summer, and got a 19 academic average and 21 PAT score. My individual scores were 22 in General Chemistry, 20 in Organic Chemistry, 19 in Quantitative Reasoning, 18 in Reading Comprehension, and 16 in Biology. I have been told that because my biology score is somewhat low that I should consider retaking the DAT before applying. This year I have taken biochemistry and two semesters of Anatomy and Physiology, which I definitely think would boost my Biology score. Do you think that it is necessary for me to retake it, or do you think I would be okay with these scores? (My GPA is around 3.5 or so...) Please let me know what you think... Thanks!

Maybe you should refer to some of the answers you got the other three times you posted this exact same question:

As a general rule, a 16 is pretty low for Bio. However, if you got A's in your new biology classes, this would go a long way to show an admissions committee that you are knowledgeable when it comes to biology. One thing that worries me though is that your GPA is still about a 3.5, which is slightly below average if I'm not mistaken. That, coupled with a 19 (above average, but not enough to really 'hide' your GPA), makes me think that if you have the time, a retake would only help you. Especially if your science GPA is lower than a 3.5.

I think you have a shot to get in this year if your biology courses are A's, but even then it's not definitive enough for me to say that you're going to get in somewhere with no problem. Even your RC could use some improvement into the 20+ range.

Well I posted it once in the "pre-dental" forum and the "DAT" forum, and they both were far down the list so people weren't going to be able to see it anymore, so I posted it again so that more people would view it, because I need the most feedback possible. I am really having a tough time deciding whether I should do it or not. So, get off me.

For future reference, all you need to do is post a comment (or 'bump') on your own thread to get it back to the top. That way people can add to the insights already given, and you don't have to annoy people by repeatedly posting the same question.
