Hi everyone,
I'm wrapping up my first year of medical school (I'm at an osteopathic school). Currently, my GPA is 3.7. To be considered for Sigma Sigma Phi (Osteopathic version of a national honors society) , at my school you need a 3.8.
My question is: If I'm unable to reach that 3.8 threshold for Sigma Sigma Phi, how much would this hurt me? As of now, I'm highly interested in general surgery, orthopedics, and ENT . I'm well aware of how competitive these programs are. The rest of my resume should look fairly stellar (I'm actively involved in research, have a ton of volunteer hours, am a president of a club on campus, former collegiate athlete, etc).
Thanks in advance for your time.
