American Legion Student Trooper Program - June 24-29, 2007
Students who have completed their junior or senior year of high school are invited to attend the NC American Legion Trooper Program. This program's purpose is to create an association between our young people and the men and women who are responsible for enforcing the laws of our State. Tuition is $200 and participants will learn the use of police skills, including drug detection firearms safety, and precision driving. Each participant must be sponsored by an American Legion Post. The high school Honors Program allows juniors in high school the opportunity to enroll and attend a six-week undergraduate program and earn credit.

The Museum of Life and Science Summer Science Camp Youth Volunteers
The Museum of Life and Science has summer volunteer opportunities for students.
Summer Science Camp Youth Volunteers spend seven hours each day during two separate weeks working as part of a classroom team with an educator andclass assistant.
Youth Volunteers may work at the museum in Durham or Estes
Hill Elementary in Chapel Hill. Volunteers perform a variety of important
tasks ranging from class set-up and take down to helping kids with class
projects. This year volunteers may be assisting in
camps with a Robotics, Entomology, CSI or Wetlands theme.
