American Legion Student Trooper Program - June 24-29, 2007

Students who have completed their junior or senior year of high school are invited to attend the NC American Legion Trooper Program. This program's purpose is to create an association between our young people and the men and women who are responsible for enforcing the laws of our State. Tuition is $200 and participants will learn the use of police skills, including drug detection firearms safety, and precision driving. Each participant must be sponsored by an American Legion Post. Boston University High School Honors Programs -June 17 - August 10

The high school Honors Program allows juniors in high school the opportunity to enroll and attend a six-week undergraduate program and earn credit.
Juniors also have the opportunity to participate in a Research Internship in
Science and Engineering.

Summer Challenge offers juniors, sophomores or freshmen a 2 two week
programs where students explore two topics of interest in non-credit

The College of William and Mary Pre-Collegiate Summer Program in Early

This summer program is offered for college credit to high school juniors and seniors. Students
will earn 4 hours of college credit for the three-week summer academic
course that will teach early American history through the use of historic
places, including surviving structures, archaeology sites, and museums. For

The Museum of Life and Science Summer Science Camp Youth Volunteers

The Museum of Life and Science has summer volunteer opportunities for students.

Summer Science Camp Youth Volunteers spend seven hours each day during two separate weeks working as part of a classroom team with an educator andclass assistant.

Youth Volunteers may work at the museum in Durham or Estes
Hill Elementary in Chapel Hill. Volunteers perform a variety of important
tasks ranging from class set-up and take down to helping kids with class
projects. This year volunteers may be assisting in
camps with a Robotics, Entomology, CSI or Wetlands theme.

The Howard Hughes Summer Science Program, sponsored by the Spelman College Biology Department, is for rising female 12th graders interested in pursuing careers in biology, biochemistry and other

The program is a five-week residential program taking place June 17-July 20, 2007.

This program is designed to provide participants with an integrative science educational experience and to develop their interpersonal skills.

The Center for Women and Information Technology (CWIT) at the University
of Maryland Baltimore County will be hosting CAMP ESTEEM, a technology
summer camp for middle school students.
CAMP ESTEEM is a youth-based
summer program that incorporates a highly effective curriculum focusing
on technology applications using engineering, science and information
technology. This program focuses on girls as an important step in
increasing diversity in technology classrooms and the workforce.

The camp will offer hands-on activities in a wide range of topics in
computer hardware and software. There will also be sessions discussing
technology careers and special emphasis will be given to personal
development. There will be approximately three/four fieldtrips per
session to various sites; a few possibilities are Booz Allen Hamilton,
Johns Hopkins University, and the National Air and Space Museum.

This is a HRSA funded, 5 week residential program for disadvantaged/minority students who are seriously considering a career in nursing. Nursing career exploration and identity formulation are the core concepts of the program. The program provides classes in nursing, academic enhancement in reading and math, opportunities to shadow registered nurse mentors at Howard University Hospital, and other activites that will help students to acquire and maintain an interest in nursing, and successfully transition from high school to college.

Program Description

A 5 week summer theatre camp located in the Theatre Department of Howard University. Students receive introductory training in dance, voice and acting and showcase their hard work at summers end a final broadway style production.

Selection Criteria
--------------------
Accepted age range is 7-17. Scholarships are available for 16-17.
 
Microsoft has an open invitation for young women entering 10th, 11th, or 12th grades this summer to attend their

2007 DIGIGIRLZ High Technology Day Camp, August 1st-3rd in Washington, D.C.

Applications with short essays are due no later than Friday, June 1st, 2007.
