I have mainly applied to prelim medicine and transitional year programs, but also have the option of doing a prelim surgery year. I have done a subI in medicine, but was wondering if anyone would also recommend doing a surgery subI? Did it prepare you for your prelim surg year or would you recommend just enjoying 4th year (haha)?

The only requirements for most prelim surg spots are an MD and a pulse. Don't bother with a SubI unless you want to do it for "learning".
