Long-time lurker; I've been seeing these transgender stories in media like 'I am Cait' and 'I am Jazz' and I was wondering, especially in adolescent cases, would there be any way that a Psychiatrist would handle all aspects of treatment for GID, including hormone therapy? I realize it's legal but borderline unethical. Could there ever be an endo-like fellowship in the future?

Most fellowships don't make economical sense. Say you were one of the 20 most recognizable names in GID cases, how many actual new cases would you get a year? Would those number be anything close to what's needed in order to justify another year of training in your life?

Seems a little dubious, but I guess if, for whatever reason, you got extensive experience in managing hormones in that patient population (???) then go for it. It strikes me as more appropriate for an endocrinologist, though.
