Hello Everyone,

I was wondering if there is a possibility to be a psychologist who works with missionaries and the people they minister to globally? The reason behind this is that I feel that missionaries go through a lot of traumatic events and need to have someone to talk to. Also who knows what the people that live in countries where missionaries are go through mentally. I guess what I am trying to know is if you guys think it is possible to work with missionaries as a psychologist?

Uh, of course. Why couldn't they?

I think job advertisements for these would be limited, as missionaries are usually supported by parishes or other organizations that rely on charitable donations and benefactors and endowments. Not exactly organizations that are going to serve up mentalhealth services "in house."

I have provided pro bono services to members of my parish as part of my stewardship.
