Well first make sure it is the same question. Second, there is that chance that they could see that it is the same word for word. I wouldn't doubt it because they do make re-applicants designate that they are re-applicants so I am sure it is something they look for. So yeah, I would at least edit it quite a bit and maybe implement your experienes over the last year to your essay in some shape or form. That is assuming that you made some changes to better yourself from last year...in which I really hope you did...haha Take your essay to a local university and have it read over and over again by their writing department...look for people who specialize in grad essays and personal statements.
