This is probably a really silly question, but I was thinking about bifocal power and was slightly confused. Lets say someone is +3.25 OU and needs bifocal power +1.50. Would the bottom portion of their glasses be 1.50 stronger than +3.25 or simply +1.50?

Net power will be +4.75
Spectacle prescriptions for bifocals are written as ADD power (add to the distance Rx)

Yes, the bottom portion would be the "bifocal power" added to the distance power; this is why "bifocal power" is called "add power" (for some reason, we capitalize "add" as, "ADD").
