Quick one: what does it mean when people say "equilibrium is affected"?

If someone says "driving the equilibrium to the left," does that imply a change in K, the equilibrium constant?

Or does it simply mean you're making Q (reaction quotient) that much smaller and K stays constant?

edit: found it in my notes, it's the latter.
