Honors for service commitments, grades and teaching assistantships

Also have an MS degree and an MBA degree.

Any input is greatly appreciated

There aren't many radiology program directors that cruise by here, so anybody else's opinion is more or less a guess.

If it's what you want to do, then go for it. You have come too far to give up. If on the other hand you are looking for excellent reimbursement there are easier ways to go, and no guarantees that radiology will stay lucrative.

Just my 2?.

Thank you for the input. I really enjoy radiology and that's the truth. However, I am interested to hear what the easier/more lucrative options are. Please fill me in here. Thank you.

i am assuming you are do (comlex?). assuming that, you should investigate what opportunities there are for osteopathic residencies, as these will be the most bang for the buck. 231 is pretty average for radiology these days, and though not impossible, i would think you may have a harder time matching into an allopathic program.

what do you mean osteopathic residency? You mean that DO's have their own radiology residencies???

Yes DO's have a few radiology programs although I don't have any idea on where they are. I know of only one in Michigan (could be more, don't know) and that is at Pontiac Osteopathic.

Yes, there are radiology residency programs at the following locations:

I think the key for you is going to be how many places you apply. In all honesty look at applying to around 50 or so. Stay away from top tier and look at community programs. Your numbers look O.K., Don't let anyone put down a 230ish USMLE. Also, don't forget the other aspects of your app. Make your P.S. slammin', This really carries a significant amount of weight once you get past the cut. I was in your shoes last year, you;ll get through it too!! If you think this stressful, wait until match day!!

all the best,
stu
