Everyone's favorite state for med school admissions!
Use YOUR own personal criteria!

1. UCLA, UCSF, and Stanford
(Do I even need to elaborate?!)

2.USC (LA County hospital!!)

3. UCSD (med school in La Jolla!)

4. UCI (simply breathtaking!)

5. UC-Davis (higher chance of running into E-40!)

6.UC-Riverside (making life that much better for CA applicants!)

7. Loma Linda (hey, it's still California!)

1. UCSF. It's in the bay.

Are there other schools in California?

As a non-Californian:

1. UCLA, UCSF, Stanford
(I've heard of them)

2. I thought that was it.

As an OOS applicant with many friends/family acquaintances studying at CA medical schools, here's my personal list.

1) Stanford/UCSF
2) UCLA/UCSD/USC
3) UCI/UCD/Loma Linda
4) UCR (because it is so new)

Stanford put me on the waitlist, so screw them.

UCSF screened me out pre-secondary, so they can die in a lake of fire.

Out of curiosity, which ones are easiest to get into OOS?
Loma Linda is the "easiest" to get in OOS - if you line up with LLU's mission. Aside from there, many, even UC schools specifically state on their websites that they have no in-state preference. There's just so many top applicants IS that most students come from California.

The one that's the least competitive to get into. It's not that most of the California schools have strong in-state biases that make it difficult for out of state applicants to get in, but it's that you will be competing with all the exceptionally well qualified applicants in California who also want to stay in-state.

1. Any CA medical school that accepts me
2. Everyone else
