Ruptured ovarian cyst.

:barf:

:xf: pain meds kick in quickly.
Aww DVMD, I have three friends with PCOS and I know through them how aweful cyst ruptures can be. I hope your pain meds work wonders today:)

Anything you want! Though improving apps if you need to re-apply is always a good place to start. I know how much it sucks though.

Blah. I just don't have any solid ideas and my file reviews weren't helpful in that regard. I'll figure it out

Thanks everyone. I have this happen about every 7-8 months. It sucks. I can barely walk and get sick to my stomach from the pain. Luckily, pain meds have kicked in but now the pain meds have made me..

That is weird that they happen so frequently.

BKT I am sorry about that dumb scholarship board. I hate how red tape gets in the way sometimes and no one can ever seem to explain it:mad:. It sounds like you have a great shot for the Edinburgh ones though!
Thanks Firefly. :)

Why is it that pain meds never last long enough???

I can barely stand up right now. I hate this.

I'm sorry Abney. :(

Can you take anything else? Like something from a different drug class?? I'm so sorry you're hurting

And most doctors won't do it.

:( hope you feel less painful soon. have you seen a repro specialist? my friend had very serious cyst issues (and multiple surgeries because of them) and they've finally got her on some very heavy dose birth control that keeps them at bay.

I failed another Physics test. If I don't pass the exam, I'm failing the class. I feel so defeated. This whole year hasn't been going as well as I hoped. I'm really upset right now. And I don't even have any chips or Nutella do deal with it.. :(

I know that not getting good grades is stressful, but this is not the end for you. Aren't you a freshman? If you have to retake Physics, that is fine. Not fun, certainly, but you will do fine. Lots of pre-vetters have to retake and drop classes. You will have the experience you have gained from this year, and if you need it you can get a tutor. There is no shame in asking others for help. Try your best to rock your final so that you can see what you are capable of, but don't sweat this class.

I'm just worried what it's gonna do to my GPA. I already only have a 2.8 now and I'm gonna have a C in another class. I just don't think I'm very good at science and maybe I should just find something else then. Science has never been my favorite. I thought I can work through it with enough motivation, but it just doesn't look like it..

Yes you will need to show that you can hack the sience courses that will be part of vet school. Many vet schools will forgive a low overall GPA if there is an upward trend in the grades you get though. If these are your first college level science courses then it is understandable that they are difficult for you. The classes won't get much easier though, so you will need to nail down how to study.

There definitely is no shame in asking for help!!!!! Heck I got a tutor to make it through my first semester of Ochem! Though having a different teacher helps too. Second semester went much better than the first.

It's about Nutella, nothing gross but it's something you have to read to believe...

I'm sorry PetPony. I hated Physics and the physics teacher at my university was horrible. Even with the terrible reviews all of the students gave him, the university would still let him teach.

Maybe you can get someone to help you who understands the material. It is much better to ask for help now rather than never. Hopefully, things will start going better for you soon. :xf:

Are you kidding me? READ THE FREAKING NUTRITION LABEL!! Don't believe a commercial. As a parent, you are the one responsible for what your child eats. Although Nutella is very yummy. Although I think I got food poisoning from it once cause it had been open a while...or the apples I ate that were covered in it messed with the cheese from the pizza I ate earlier. Not sure which. But this does mean I can get $4 back. Hahaha.

Exactly!!!! For God's sake the label isn't written in Sanskrit!!!!!! And it's chocolate and hazelnuts!!!!! OF COURSE it's high in sugar and fat!!!!! That's like those people who sued McDonald's because it made them fat.....

Right? I hate when producers label something as "healthy!" or "all natural". The FDA does not have any regulations on the "all natural" label, so anyone can put it on their product. Take food chemistry and read the label!

My friend thinks that I'm so anxious because I'm so scared of failing and that's what's stressing me out so much lately. Which doesn't sound too far off..

I'm thinking now to not take Ochem next semester, but Food Animal Infectious Diseases instead. There are no prerequisites for it and one of my professors thinks that it'd be a good class to take. That would make my schedule a bit easier and much more interesting. I also have an easy poultry class, which I'm excited for. After that I can take a surgery class, which I think is awesome. Maybe having a schedule that's slightly easier and more fun will help me relax a bit and really figure out how to study. I'd still be taking two classes for my major, so it wouldn't slow me down very much if I don't take Ochem next semester..

It's totally fine to take O Chem later in your college career. And if it makes you feel better, I withdrew from Gen Chem my freshman year because I had a D. My professor was confident I could pull it up, but I wasn't so I withdrew. Took the class over the summer at a local college and aced it. Like so well the professor asked me to TA her class over the fall (couldn't cause I went to school OOS). I don't think I really put any extra effort into the class and think a lot of came down to the teaching style. I struggled a little the 2nd summer semester because the tests were scantron (which I don't really like) but ended up with a B+. Our teacher that semester was also on probation or something, so I'm sure that contributed.

I still struggled a bit in O Chem because I found I tend to have test anxiety when it comes to test with the word Chemistry in it. I know the material but panic as soon as I see a question where the answer doesn't come to me right away. Sometimes, I think if I had taken it in my senior year I would have done better because I figured out the best way for me to study pretty much in my junior year. College is definitely a learning process, so try not to worry too much if it takes you a little bit to figure out what works best for you.

I definatley think if one semester has hit you hard and has you feeling down, take some fun, animal oriented classes to reenergise yourself and help make you excited for vet school again. Going from poxy physics to poxy ochem doesn't sound too awesome to me, I would definately put that off and do a fun class :)

Wait. What?!

I itch, gotta scratch somewhere, therefore wife=target. Admittedly lame joke, but when you itch you can't think straight.

I don't know why now, but I am getting irritation and rash all over my chest. It seems to be in spots where I had electrodes, or tubes, or tape, or clamps or whatever, but why 2 weeks later I have no idea. All i know is I want to pull my hair out.

Sadly, it was the whole year. I think I should have started easier than I did, but I was cocky and wanted to do everything at once. Now my GPA is gonna suck and I'm not happy to be a student. So while there will still be challenging classes, they are way more interesting to me and hopefully easier than Ochem.

I almost put ecollars over my hands after I had my appendix out. It itched so bad. Hope the itching goes away soon.
