When I was an RA, the RD of my area called a staff meeting for the 6 RA's of our building...she turned it into a meeting trying to get us to buy into this company. I was so mad. Said something to the higher-ups and she never got in trouble.

That's totally inappropriate. I'm sorry your RD was a dingus.

Not sure if I under assessed or if the pet was just progressing quickly because of the stress of being in hospital (probably a combo of both), but I found myself having to make the unexpected "hey this is your warning call that your pet is likely about to die, what do you want me to do?" call this afternoon. never a fun call to make. this was an exotic, and i'm definitely no exotics specialist (or even close to comfortable) so it makes me feel slightly less like a failure, but still. had another recently where we were intra-op and as the 3rd set of hands, i had the great job of calling an owner to tell them that their dog had briefly arrested twice and that fatal arrest may be imminent. that owner was very calm about it and was happy to have us realistically keep going without being heroic. dog did awesome and survived to discharge days later, much to everyones surprise.

I have been so sick that I have not left my bed in four days until today. Went to work this morning, almost passed out drawing blood on a cat and had to sit down in the middle of the treatment room. Now back in bed all afternoon. This sickness is kicking my butt.

I had blood work done back in September and submitted under my insurance through the school. Apparently the claim didn't go through because I wasn't a member (not sure why, I have an account) and the bill was sent to my parents' address even though I'm like 95% sure that the student insurance is under my school address in Philly. Well, I owe $230...3 weeks ago. Just tried transferring it to my parents' plan which I'm still a member of (at least supposedly even though I'm now 26) so we'll see if I really end up having to pay the money. I'm just not really sure why it didn't go through on the student insurance since I payed for the plan as of August. I might still have a deductible which is fine, but I don't understand why I seem to keep not existing in various insurance things.

Call up the billing and records department for your university's medical/health care center. Make sure they have the correct address on file and the correct insurance information. If they have any other insurer information in your file that is not current, have them remove it from their system.

Came to the school for a LinkedIn seminar to make my profile more exciting. Apparently it's cancelled because the instructor is sick, which is fine, but I would have appreciated an email letting me know.

My kitten is missing. It's been raining since she's been gone and her belly is still shaved from her recent spay. :(

Missing kitties are the most worrisome, stressful thing. I hope she comes home or you find her soon!

Facebook is driving me crazy right now, and I don't even use it all that often...I cannot stand all of the political opinions, random stupid videos and advertisements that make up the vast majority of my news feed. The only reason to keep it is to keep in touch with friends, but when all anyone ever posts is the drivel from above, I just can't keep myself wanting to stick around. Seriously contemplating having my sister change my password for a few weeks and see how it goes. Ugh.

Even when I don't have someone I know spouting nonsense, Facebook itself will step in with a "suggested post" that gets me all pissed off or sad for the state of humanity. Worse, I never notice that they aren't "real posts" until after I have my reaction and want to know what waste of oxygen wrote it. I relax for a second, but then go through the same reaction because even though it wasn't one of my friends or family, someone thought I should see this piece of garbage written by someone else that had this hateful, *****ic thought.

Exactly. And I get it - the world is in the toilet and a lot of stuff looks like doom and gloom, and I recognize that people have the right to post their thoughts on things. But I just don't want to be bombarded by political opinions (especially worse after the Paris attacks and with the upcoming [US] election), videos that auto-play/memes and are usually only maybe slightly funny and ads for crap. I enjoy people's updates on their lives, but that is literally like 1% of what pops up and it just isn't worth it. Had my sister change my password just now.

You can hide the posts about stuff you don't like, and "like" more posts about people's lives. That should eventually tailor your newsfeed to something more palatable.

This. I have a short tolerance for people posting political/religious stuff constantly, so a significant portion of my friends list has most (or all) of their posts hidden.

Wish Study Blue didn't make you upgrade to Pro to use other peoples flashcards. I was going to browse through some previous grads NAVLE cards.

That does stink. Have you tried looking on Quizlet?

Nah, but that's my next step in addition to making some of my own for the topics that just aren't sticking. I just remember being able to use random flashcards on Study Blue as a first year, so it's just a bummer that they've changed it.

Yeah, in theory I could just hide posts I don't want to read or unfollow the more persistent people (figured that out quickly with the one crazy vegan chick), but literally a huge portion of my news feed is this junk. What's the point in taking the time/effort to unfollow or hide things when that's what FB has to offer me right now? Just not worth it, in my opinion.

I never really have time to be dedicated about doing that. So what I mostly end up doing is really high-level skimming and only reading things that catch my eye.

Honestly, I tend to use Facebook messenger and not really pay much attention to anything else.

I don't really post about my life on facebook because I like to keep things private. If it is important enough to share with people, then I'll talk with them about it via phone, messenger or text. I'm just not one to announce my life via internet.

I've moved more in this direction as well

Yep, I'm the same way.

Also, how is having a mint brownie even a question?! ;)

Sweets are my weakness. Mint brownie would have been devoured before I could even contemplate eating it or not o_O

I always make mint brownies. :D

My much beloved debit card with the golden retriever pup on it is missing :( and to add to that my dog bit through my credit card! It had a chip but it is declining for some unknown reason. And I don't have cash. AND my brother owes me money. If I didn't have checks I could cash, I don't know how I'd be getting home for thanksgiving lol.
