With the aging baby boomers does anyone have an opinion on the future of reimbursement in radiation oncology? Numbers of cancer patients will undoubtedly increase in the future, but will medicare reimbursements also decrease to offset the increased health care costs of the baby boomer generation. I know this is an issue for any field of medicine, but I am curious as to what people think about future reimbursement in regards to radiation oncology specifically. Some radiation oncologists have told me that future reimbursements will continue to be good, while others predict that reimbursements will be cut. Any opinions?
