Hello,
I am an international medical graduate currently on spouse visa as my wife has H-1 for residency. The problem is that it's been 9 years since I graduated medical school. I have taken my Step 1, 2, and 3 with scores in the 80's ( can't recall the actual 3 digit #) . Because of my visa status, I cannot do any form of training except volunteer work in hospitals.
My questions are:
1. Do I have to retake my steps to stay current?
2. Will volunteering count as US clinical experience?
3. What are my chances of getting into residency program ( psychiatry)
Thanks!
