Any movement here? I submitted my secondary last week, and was wondering if anyone has been invited in for interviews yet? I know it's still early in the process.

They mentioned earlier in the thread that they would start reviewing during the week of 8/17. Hang in there :)

I did get an email stating they needed further clarification from one of my LOR. So they're obviously reviewing!

The Office of Admissions is working on completing candidate files at this time. All files that are complete (contain AACOMAS application, supplemental application and all required letters of recommendation) by August 14 will be reviewed to award interviews starting the week of August 17th and will continue on a rolling basis. You can check your status on the myVista portal. Good luck everyone!

Thank you for the update. I think I speak for all of us when I say that we appreciate when adcoms keep us posted on timelines and updates.

Under the "applicant" page does it only list the dates the supplemental and AACOMAS application dates and times for everyone? Most of the other schools list at least LORs and scores.. so i'm slightly perplexed

That's all I have. But I checked this morning, and now under "Admissions Status" it says file complete. I'm sure that means they have everything, right?

On the secondary, I am interpreting criminal offenses as misdemeanors or felonies. Did anyone opt to include infractions/traffic violations?

Really like this school! Question: did anyone have trouble attaching their resume to the secondary? I know its optional, but I would still like to attach it.

EDIT: figured it out :)

Submitted my secondary July 27. Under Applicant Status it still says "Applicant". Rrrr.

*Update 8/17: Status Complete today!*

Just started here, wanted to give my two cents about my first few weeks here.

Curriculum: So far this curriculum seems very tailored to the boards, which is probably why the school sees consistently high pass rates/scores.
Clinical/OMM Classes: Small group learning, very fun.
Resources: So many resources for help including group tutor review, individual tutors, study specialists, helpful classmates, etc.
Professors: All of the professors so far seem happy and are all welcoming. The tests are very fair.
Student Body: Many opportunities for volunteering/interest groups/travel etc.

I would make some warnings however:
I thought this school would be lecture based, however we have many classes where small groups and interaction are the way of learning. You will also be called on in class often. I think this is the way it is at most schools, but I didn't know, so just wanted to give a heads up. Although lecture is not mandatory, BSCs (basic science correlations) are required and make up probably 25-50% of our lectures per test. There are many classes I wish I didn't have to go to because I don't learn well in groups or in class, but this is the way it is and I probably need to get used to it since it will be happening in residency.

Also, there seems to be a divide between the student population and the administrators. Administrators and staff continually have to reassure the student population that the rapid changes they make are always for the student's best interest. The students and administrators don't seem to see eye to eye on these changes including: a new renal course taught in the second year taught through Problem Based Learning, and a new dress code. There have been other topics of contention too, which you can probably find in the threads or on the facebook group. In addition, students have asked the school to bring back food trucks at lunch (which were promised by admissions during interviews last year) but there are no food trucks yet, and although a gym has been asked for twice with ample student approval, there is no gym room (small, few machines, one room).

All in all I think this school is going to do what I wanted it to do: get me a residency of my choice and set me up well to take the boards. But I think the rapid changes are unprofessional and create a division between student body and administrators.

Thank you for your commentary. Can you provide any insight on interviewing at RVU?

Sure, they will ask you about the activities you list on your application, so make sure you know them. Be nice, be friendly, and if you have had academic issues in the past and they ask about them, take responsibility for them and give examples of your growth since. Otherwise, they are just making sure you are a decent human being who will professionally represent their school.

Did you all with IIs select the track that said you would only apply to them? Or no?

So I went to look at my portal since my email has been weird with several schools and noticed my applicant tab is gone.. Idk if this is a good or bad thing. Has that happened to anyone else so far?

It happened to me too.. did that happen to anyone that got an interview?

Those of you with II what date did you pick? I went with 9/11 anyone going to be there with me?

I called today about the disappearing status tab, and what that means is that we've been rejected (not be invited for an interview).

Really? How tricky. . .

Will they send snail-mail rejection letters after?

Huh, I don't see any app tab either. I log into the portal and see campus life....RVU forum....My pages.

Is this the same for the others who don't see an application tab? Guess that's a rejection.

yes same for me.

Did anyone get an email about the secondary being "completed" and verified after they submitted it? It has been almost 2 weeks since I submitted my secondary and I still haven't received an email..

I'm sorry for the crummy way of finding out- but thank you for sharing with us all.

Received a rejection email today...not competitive enough apparently. Gpa and mcat are above their matriculate averages...oh well, on to the next one.
