So....b/c of Hurricane Sandy, our entire school schedule got messed over, 4 exams in 2 weeks with 2 lab practicals and one being a micro lab practical...

Point is I havent had time to myself or even for the gym. And now am feeling side effects, Have any of you sat for long studying, that your legs start aching, im thinking poor venous return in causing blood to pool in the veins? My legs have been killing me, my subscauplar/infraspinatus region has numbness and tingling, and I've developed hemmrohids from sitting for too long.

We have a final in a couple of days and tons of material which we are responsible for hence tons of catching up to do

How much are you guys putting in come exam time/block final time

It may be a mixture of the looming stress of upcoming exams mixed with the long hours that you are putting in. Consider taking some time out for yourself (even though I know this is an odd concept for most of us), and do some form of physical activity that involves more than standing up and stretching between lectures.

Swim, lift, volleyball, soccer, basketball, running, yoga, cook, clean anything to give your mind and body a significant break.

My adverse effect is mainly high myopia... -10 diopters. Eye doctor told me my eyes are 3cm longer than normal.

When I burn out I watch porn:eek: Very embarassing, I know. But eyesight is still good, no hemorrhoids or muscle weakness. In fact, as virile as ever.

Don't know that virility has much to do with eyesight, hemorrhoids, or muscle weakness.

studying for step 1 12-13hours a day for 3.5 weeks just made me hate life.. i was miserable but otherwise ok. i would go to the gym 1-2 a week to do elliptical for 20min while listening to Goljan and i would walk to and from the library.

Id say the most so far was step 1 many hours for many weeks... the trick is to pace yourself and take breaks every so often. You're capable of more than you think as long as you energize yourself with breaks for the gym/a few mins of tv/whatever floats your boat. Id say definitely don't study for the whole entire day without a free seconds to yourself to take your mind off crap. Definitely try to not sit for extended periods of time (lay down on the couch a little bit to study or something), and have liberal amounts of fiber daily for those hemorrhoids!! The pain can be from bad posture/compressive neuropathy/whatever you will.... but can definitely be exacerbated and even entirely caused by stress!! Hang in there and take care of yourself, it'll be over soon
