Sort of related... The VA will usually pay for SGBs for PTSD, regionally could pay for anything. One thing to keep in mind when doing this kind of thing: you can inadvertently find yourself in the position where you are the only doc treating a pt for a non-pain problem. So you should be comfortable testifying about hot flashes, how you worked them up, how you followed the pt, etc. Also, the SGB is looked at by some as a cure-all procedure with scant evidence. You should have strict criteria for when you do them...
