Dear Residents & Future Residents :

JoMI (http://www.jomi.com/) is a new peer reviewed video journal of surgery. Please contact me if interested in making your own article, or suggest a topic you would like to see filmed and we will recruit it.

Our aim in JoMI is to go beyond any current surgical video content to supplement surgical training to address the facts that duty hours are restricted, case volume is down and change is accelerating.

One of the founders previously co-founded JoVE, Journal of Visualized Experiments, now PubMed indexed and over 3,000 articles published.

We provide:
1. Free filming and production by professional videographers to comprehensively capture the highest quality detail and clarity
2. Interviews with top surgeons
3. Peer reviewed techniques performed by top name surgeons
4. Schematics for clarity, chapters for easy skimming
5. Accompanying text article, for future PubMed indexing

We are continually thinking about further additions/improvements to help surgical education.

We've just launched and expect to publish roughly 4-5 articles per month.
Check out our first published article, and clips from an upcoming article by Dr. Matthew Provencher of MGH, who is showing them now at AAOS.

Regards,
Robert Dolan, MD

p.s. We are branching out into all surgical specialties. My personal contacts and knowledge are mostly in Ortho so this is the direction we've started in. We plan to soon have sections in Urology, Ophthalmology and Neurosurgery.
