Taking the DAT late? - advice?

Hi guys, I was planning on taking my DAT on July 21st, but after being frightened by the Achiever, I decided to reschedule my test for middle to late August. Would that be too late to take the DAT? I don't want my application to appear as the last tier. Also, if I have a low GPA (3.0), should I just submit the application without the DAT score? (I was hoping to have a kick ass DAT score to appear on the application to "make-up" for the low GPA... well... to at least give me a chance at d-school).

Any opinions on the DAT date and/or application submission?

You also need to keep in mind that you might mess up the DAT and then you have to retake it in 90 days which will be REALLY late! Now, I'm not saying that you need to rush and take the DAT if you are not prepared yet, but remember that it might not turn out as well as you think...and then you are screwed up!
I hope I haven't scared you, I'm just trying to give you a more real picture
