D. Cl-

The answer says it's C, but following general periodic table trends, something towards the right, or closer to the top of the table will have a smaller radius, so how does the Na+ have a smaller radius than the Ne?

isoelectronic series. Ne and Na+ both have 10 electrons, but Na+ has 11 protons whereas Ne has 10 protons. Na+ has more Z effective thus the elecctrons will be kept closer to the nucleus and therefore the atomic radius will be smaller than Neon. Also, keep in mind cations << neutral <<<anions (largest).
