The formula for the speed of a wave is: Velocity= (wavelength) * (frequency)

There are 2 questions that ask for the graph of this relationship. I don't understand why the first one is an negative exponential relationship while the second is linear when both are derived from the same formula.

1) Graph frequency vs wavelength -> negative exponential relationship

2) Graph wavelength vs velocity -> linear

v = λ*f

To graph something, the two variables are set on opposite sides of the equation to make one the dependent variable, and one independent.

So f vs λ is f = v/λ, where frequency is inversely proportional to wavelength, a non-linear curve.

λ vs v is v = λ*f, where velocity is directly proportional to wavelength, a linear relationship.
