Hey guys,

Can someone explain to me the last two rows? How is it that "the pOH is found by taking the negative log excess of [OH-] which can be quickly found using [OH-]initial x [(mL OH- minus 50)/(mL OH- +50)]?

Thank you

I'm not sure where this problem is BUT...

pOH = -log [OH] <== an equation to remember

I'm assuming that there was a table, and then you mixed in 50mL of stuff and it reacted to form some compound. So in that case you have the original compound of X + concentration of the 2nd compound and then underneath they subtracted -50mL that was reacted. Sorry for not being too helpful. You should put more data?
