I personally think this thread is in poor taste, serious or not, and a pre-vet forum is not the appropriate place for it. Maybe I am finally acting my age, but IMO, discussing shaving a cat for no other reason than your entertainment is mean-spirited. A cat's coat is not purely cosmetic, and shaving it for personal pleasure is not the right image for this group to project.

Not gonna make a big deal about it. I have said my piece. Do what you want.

I'd do it, but I'm still pretending that my cat isn't fat and he's just got a lot of fur. I'm not ready to face reality yet.

Edit: I wouldn't actually do it...
