Roll call! Didn't see a thread for this date. I stayed up until 5 AM the morning signups opened to secure a spot for the 15th because it's the last afternoon administration of the old MCAT and I'm definitely not a morning person. The test is basically all or nothing for me, as I certainly want to avoid the new version, but I'm botching the opportunity (just finished undergrad and I'm currently taking off work and research). It has been a struggle so far in terms of keeping up with SN2ed's 4 month schedule and establishing good study habits and a routine that works for me, however things are slowly starting to pick up.

How about you guys?

Satisfied with the result, its in line with the amount of studying I did. Disappointed with the 9 in PS as I wanted double digits in everything, and I thought I did way better in Verbal, but I can't complain. The 12 in BS was nice :)

Kind of meh about it. Not as good as I hoped, but I'll take it because there's no way I'm retaking.

28 on the first one, 25 on this one,

Not gonna retake and apply to DO schools.

How bad does it look that I took it twice and did worst?

lol @ myself :(
I'm too ashamed to share my score at the moment, but I scored well below my AAMC avg and pretty much the same as my first take even though I studied oodles more.

such is life!

Exactly what happened to me...you are not alone!

First time taker and I didn't like my score (completely got murdered by VR).
If I were to take the 2015 one (I have decent background with Psych and Socio), when does the score have to be in by for the 2015 application cycle?

I'm generally satisfied with my score since I was shooting for a 36 and only missed by one point. VR is such a pain....

I thought I failed verbal horribly. The testing site had 15inch monitors with low resolution while I practiced on a 1080p 21 inch monitor. Scrolling through the passages was a lot harder than I expected and I panicked about 40 minutes in when I looked at the time. I never scored 14 on PS on any practice test but almost always got 13s. 12 BS was expected because I didn't know some of the orgo and I was still nervous from the verbal. I got anywhere from 34 to 38 on practice so 36 is about average. Still, I am so happy I don't have retake the new version of the MCAT and can be proud of my score.

Long time lurker... but just wanted to share with you guy my story.

I'm a non traditional applicant who decided to not take a prep course and self studied. Learning all of the sciences by myself over again was incredibly tough.

Leading up to the MCAT, my highest AAMC practice test score was a 27. There were huge fluctuations, 7-12 on individual sections, I probably needed more time but this was one of the last dates.

I had to fly to Little Rock Arkansas from the east coast to take the test cause there were no test spots.

AND... today...

Got a 9/10/11 and just inched myself above the 30 line.

Fk yea! Congrats to everyone who did well, and for those who missed it this time around, have faith and you might knock it out of the park in the last hour.

Looks like I screwed myself again.. I got a 23 in August and a 26 this time. I was averaging a 28 and kept by bio and verbal scores consistent... I knew the PS section got me this day... 8,9,9. time to look for my DO list. Hopefully being URM will be on my side... Congrats to all who scored well and even those that didn't score what they wanted! We took this monster of a test head on and few are willing to do so!

Five point increase from my last MCAT (29) because I HAD a 7 in PS. So happy the work paid off.

My score: 31 (9 PS/10 VR/12 BS). Should I apply for MD with a 4.0 GPA from undergrad? I'm currently finishing up a PhD in Biochemistry and only had three weeks to study for the MCAT before taking it. I have 3 publications from undergrad and grad school, hopefully I'll get 2 more before I graduate end of this year.

What do you guys think. I took the MCAT initially in June 2013 and scored a 24 (7V, 8P, 9 BS) , I applied that cycle to several DO' programs and was wait listed due to stellar EC's , GPA was ~3.7. Since graduated and took a full time position in a hospital with direct pt care. Retook Jan 15th after averaging ~32-34 AAMC's and got a 29 (7V , 11P, 11 BS).. What would you guys say about that dog turd VR score.. I had been getting 9's and some 10's on practice tests ...... AHHHH the struggle

I was extremely worried with this test as I really ran out of time on all the sections, especially the verbal having to speed read and partial guess on 2 passages so I'm stoked I did alright. This should get me in somewhere with a 3.95 GPA so I'll take it. I was thinking I did much worse as it was orgo heavy I felt and I haven't had Orgo 2 yet and never actually took Bio 101-102(clep and took other courses) and being so rushed. It's a great day. Congrats to everyone else here, at least the wait is over.

Add my stats to that overwhelming pile of evidence pointing to AAMC averages as the best predictor.

It's funny, I was expecting a more polarized result, like either mid-20s or 34+. I was instantly relieved to have hit 30+ but also felt a slight disappointment. I had hopes of a higher score, and looking at other's scores, it seems this exam had a harsh curve. Anyway, I'm not trying to be ungrateful. A 30 will get me in the door, so I'm happy :) and will NOT be retaking lol.

Congrats to the high-scorers, and those who hit their targets. To the rest of you, don't be too disheartened. This is just another obstacle to get through, a frustrating experience yes but one that will make you stronger. Best of luck to you all!

I haven't checked my score yet, but for a second I thought I was reading my own experience with your post. You literally described the exam just as I figured and our GPAs, AAMC, and AAMC 10-11 match exactly. I seriously ran of time on two verbal passages too. I didn't finish the other sections either, I probably guessed on two passages in each section. I'm so nervous to open up my scores but now you've given me some hope. I really hope I have your score!!!!!!!!!!!!

How did you do it? What was the difference in your study method from your first attempt and your retake? Thanks!

AAMC Average: 28
AAMC 10-11: 30
Actual: 20.

I don't know how the f******************* it's possible to do 8 points below my average. I had a 23 before i even started studying? I don't understand how I can get a lower score than what I started with before I spent 2.5 months preparing? It just doesn't make any sense to me. Should i even bother asking if I even have a chance for acceptance anywhere with a high gpa? I just don't understand. How is this even possible? Not in my wildest imagination would i have expected this score? I mean i understand i didnt finish 2 passages per section, but how? I don't even know what to think.

33 up from a 29 in october

V10 P12 B11 33 Y

A little disappointed because I wanted a 34 but I am not complaining.

Godbless america and I hope everyone else did good.

Still can't believe I scored 5 points below my average. I'm hoping to wake up from this nightmare. Looks like I'll be retaking my 30, since I know I can do way, way better.

2 passages per section?! That's a lot, why not void if it didn't go as planned?
