I think many of you will agree that today is a great day to officially prepare for the May 22nd MCAT!!!

I was against the April 2015 MCAT because a typical 3 month schedule doesn't seem to work for
students and/or working test takers. With a little over 4 months of preparation we can go in with confidence!
It's all new and really scary--so let's kick MCAT butt together!!

I was also wondering, wouldn't many professional MCAT test takers and tutors want to take the MCAT 2015 as soon
as possible (April MCAT) so they can better they're material or teaching? Wouldn't that just destroy the curve?

I don't get the fuss that people are making about non-June people being in this forum. I haven't seen anyone "baiting", besides the dude who posted that scores are up. I've been around this thread long enough to know that the people here are normally really chill, and I think there has been some communication breakdown somewhere along the line between the regulars and others. I don't think anyone was purposely trolling, besides @RicheyMD. Let's all take a chill pill and be friendly again, cause this threads a really cool place most of the time.

and @RicheMD, here you go- http://forums.studentdoctor.net/thr...r-false-score-availability-1-week-ban.598009/

If you still don't see how what you did is a problem, I don't know what else to tell ya.
I get it. I said I take it back...it is 100% my bad for ot knowing about or reading those rules. With the fact that I didn't know those rules existed in mind, you have to understand that I was making a joke. You can surely see I'm not a regular, so cut me some slack for not knowing about how to find the rules

524!!! Thank G-d. I had so many ridiculous technical issues that I almost voided at the test, almost when they offered for us to void, and almost again when they emailed me to double check that I wanted mine scored because they had record of my ridiculous technical issues.

Cause I know this is the helpful bit:

My prelims were 85% - 100% on every section an 90%-100% overall.

My actual scores were:

CARS: 131--99%
Chem/Phys: 131--99%
Bio: 132--100%
Psych/Soc: 130--97%
Total: 524 --100%

Scores:
Phys/Chem: prelim - 49-64, actual 55
Bio/Biochem: prelim - 50-65, actual 54
CARS: prelim - 85-100, actual 97
Psych/Soc: prelim - 85-100, actual 93
Overall: prelim - 77-87, actual 80 = 509, range of 507-511

This is roughly equivalent to a 31 on the old exam. Any thoughts? I think it's enough to get me in somewhere, especially since the rest of my application is very strong (high GPA, extensive research, graduate degree, service experience, etc.). Any thoughts guys?????

My science sections are low, but what are you gonna do. I think science sections are equivalent to an 8/9 on the old MCAT, with CARS/Psych equivalent to ~12 each.

516, 95th percentile
130 chem 97%
128 cars 87%
129 bio 93%
129 psych 93%
I am OK with that. I don't think I will be applying to super reach schools, but I won't be taking that ever again.

Chem/phys - 129
CARS - 127
Bio/Bchem - 129
Psyc/Soc - 132

Total - 517 (96%)

Next person to say psych is a BS double major gets popped in the fac

So the question is, did I just place myself out of so called softer schools like Rosalind Franklin? My GPA isnt incredible (3.75 cGPA, 3.65 sGPA), but will these schools be like "oh screw this kid he isnt gonna come here"?

I am actually in that same boat numbers-wise with a 515, and i think that you at least force them to look at your application twice.

Overall: 520 (98%)
C/P: 129 (93%)
CARS: 130 (97%)

I'll definitely take it! All over guys!

I'm pretty pleased with my score overall. CARS was obviously a disaster, but 132 in 2 sections hopefully redeems me a little bit. Congratz to everyone else who has worked hard and earned great scores.

Yayy!!! finally!!!

preliminary: 82-92%

real: 511 (127, 129, 125 and 130)!!!! Yayyy :) So happy! A 511 was what I estimated my practice AAMC would be based on percentage correct (84% total). So I guess the AAMC practice is a really good indicator!

Good luck to anyone taking the new MCAT! Just know that you should take all the Kaplan/Princeton Review practice tests with a grain of salt. I barely scored above 500 on a couple of practice tests! Heck, my average was 499! Miracles and big improvements CAN happen! Faith!

Really wish I had scored at the higher end of my percentiles, but it's about a 30 on the old MCAT, so I think I have a good shot with the list of schools I have. I'm just so glad I don't ever have to take this thing again haha.

Congrats to everyone who did well!

I think your scores are great considering the average per section is around 125 and many people are still planning to apply! Plus, you crushed CARS, which IMO is the hardest section.

Chem/phys - 128
CARS - 130
Bio/Bchem - 128
Psyc/Soc - 129

I have a 3.86 GPA (overall and science) so I guess combined that's not too bad! Wish the scores were slightly higher but oh well, good enough

Good job everyone! For those of you planning to retake, you can do it! Study hard and you will be a great doctor someday!

Appreciate the kind words. I obviously would have preferred a higher score, but I'm content with knowing I don't need to retake it. Good luck to you whenever you take the exam (if you haven't already done so)!

I feel like this is very appropriate for all of us right about now.

My scores are in, and all my schools have been added to AMCAS. Now, all I can do is wait. And pre-write secondaries.

Yeah we're practically score twins! Haha. How do you feel about it?
Honestly, even though my Chem/Phys was just average. I'm kinda thinking "Dang it! Could I just get that one point in CARS to give me a 132!" But overall I feel good.
I asked a person I know at UCD how the 125 effects me and he told me that while it will vary per committee, the three good scores will overshadow the one average score.

Guys I don't want to sound neurotic and I know this whole thing gets beaten to death but does anyone think my BS score will get me screened out? FWIW I just got a BA in Philosophy and my cGPA is about 3.7 but my sGPA is ~3.5. Not trying to go to great schools but hoping for a couple MD interviews, at least. Thanks if anyone responds.
