I just want to retire before we are replaced by robots that follow treatment algorithms and play smooth jazz.
Automation is inevitable. We'll always need those in the driver's seat… until they're replaced too!

Why no, I don't want to take deep breaths and go to my special place.

I was referring more to my rat running compatriots, but clinical folks can be grouchy too.

What if they get depressed? Will they be able to treat themselves?

Well if Marvin the Paranoid Android doesn't work out in clinical practice, there's always Metal Mickey. :p

I'm in line with the earlier train of thought: if you don't (or hardly) curse in regularly in "real life", might not feel natural to curse while in session.

That said, the points noted of building rapport and demonstrating empathy via the usage of a verbal spectrum which a given patient might relate to -- is interesting.

Given the right circumstances, I can see myself:
...wow, that must a been a pain in the ***.
or
...definitely sounds like a sh*tty situation to be in.

I can't really see myself saying:

"F-bomb."

That is, unless a hammer just landed on my thumb -- or my team just lost the super bowl.

Psst, I think you might be in the wrong thread ;)
