Hey guys,
So this time last year I found myself checking SDN daily and my email hourly. Constantly pressing the refresh button. I was getting angry, sad, and confused when my status didn’t change.
By January I had pretty much lost all hope. I was preparing myself mentally that re-applying next year was a very real possibility.
By February I was sitting in my class when my phone rang. It was an area code I didn't recognize and I silenced it (thinking it was one of those really annoying sales people). But then something in my gut told me to answer it. On the other line was one of the deans of admission. I was speechless when he offered me an interview. I thought I was dreaming. This was it! This is what I worked so hard for. This is what I prayed for, dreamt of, and envied from all of the people posting on SDN. It was finally happening!
Then when I thought it couldn’t get any better, another interview came in.
By the end of February I completed both my interviews.
By March I was accepted to both schools! I couldn’t believe it. I thought to myself I am going to be a dentist and all those years of hard work and sacrifice is going to pay off.
Moral of the story: it is never too late. Don't get discouraged, keep your head up and if it is meant to be it will be.
I hope this helped some of the people who do not have a countdown to Dec. 1st. To these people, don’t check SDN everyday. Your day will come and it will be just as AWESOME!
Good luck to everyone!
