Is there a book, place or a website where I can look up the “Top Family Medicine Residency Program” in the nation?
If that is next to impossible, can anyone tell me the top 5 residency program for family medicine in California?

Residency programs are so varied and individual that ranking a "top" program is difficult to do, as it all depends on what you are looking for. There are no USNews rankings or other record of "top" programs. So the best bet is to think about what you want to do: Rural? Innercity? Full scope? What's the point of going to Hopkins if you want to work in rural alaska? Or what's the point of going to Alaska if you want to work in innercity DC and do legislative work?

    Good luck!
