They only have one graduating class so far, that of 2012. Isn't it unfair to judge the school based on the pass rate of only one class, least of all the very first class? I'm sure they will improve and have improved so far. It's the determination and studying of the students that determine pass rates and the first class of a pharmacy school is always tough. I met some very intelligent people both students and professors when I went there and I'm sure we will see better passing rates as time goes since they have been establishing curriculum, professors, clinical rotation sites, etc. As for pricing, it may just be a NY thing. Out of the 6 pharmacy schools in NY only one is significantly cheaper because it's a state-funded school.
Touro NY is ~37,000 per year
LIU is ~37,000 per year
St. John's is ~40,000 per year
Albany is ~35,000 per year
D'youville is ~35,000 per year
SUNY Buffalo is ~12,000 per year
This isn't including any type of living expenses, just straight tuition, and I also rounded so it may be up or down by a few thousand but they are all in that 30-40 thousand dollar ball park.
All I'm saying is not to make assumptions just yet. I chose this school because it looks promising to me and I know we can do it! (And it's too late because I declined all other offers!
So I am going to stay positive! lol)
