Has any Florida resident gotten into UMiami off of the waitlist? Has anyone out there heard of a friend or someone actually getting in off of the waitlist? It has been almost a month since May 15, and I haven't heard of a single Florida resident getting in from the waitlist (except Foxy's acquaintance who got in with a full scholarship---connections pretty much). It seems like their damn waitlist hasn't even moved yet!!! Maybe I'm wrong, and it actually has. Please help out with any info you guys have heard. Thanks.

Hi Canes, I sent my letter to release my position last Friday (and emailed them as well), so there is one position that should be opening up. I've decided I'm definitely going to Utah. :) What a relief to have the decision made.

Good luck. Hope things start moving soon.

Hi Ida!!! :D I'm happy things worked out for you sweety. UMiami never deserved you. They don't deserve me either, but I want to stay here in Miami. Thanks for giving up your spot so quickly, unfortunately it won't be going to me. Most probably your spot went to some other out-of-stater. Have fun in Utah and take care.

Did anyone else receive an e-mail today from Dr. Hinkley stating that they were sorry for the mix about not sending out alternate list letters and were wondering if you were still interested in attending?

I did not receive an e-mail, dank. Guess they don't love me. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="frown.gif" />

A friend of mine got that e-mail today and replied right back to Hinkley. It really figures that UM would do something like that. :D

I think you guys should send an email or a letter to UM telling them you're still interested as soon as you can. Looks like they're trying to cut down their waitlist.

Cane- I think you did not get one because you have already been accepted elsewhere and they probably know this. Don't schools get a list of students who have multiple acceptances?

No, dank, I don't think this is the reason because Papa didn't get one either and he hasn't gotten in elsewhere. I guess UM messed up once more. They forgot to send some people an e-mail.

UM seems to have a problem in screwing up people's applications. I know of one person last year that never heard one word from UM after submitting secondaries. The person never received a rejection letter or interview letter. After being accepted elsewhere, he decided that UM did not matter and never looked into it. However before this when he had called UM they would always give the same line that they were still reviewing his application. Sorry guys but I have never heard of any other school with this many screwups.
