The University of Illinois College of Medicine just approved a 21% tuition hike, making it the most expensive public medical school in the country. This increase was made without any input from students, faculty, or the people of Illinois. In-state tuition will be $43,000, out-of-state $71,000! This unilateral decision means fewer students will be able to afford to go into primary care, aggravating a chronic PCP shortage, not to mention the crushing personal burden of all that debt.

A group of us students are trying to get the decision reversed. Please, tell us what you think. If you agree this is a problem, please sign our petition and lend us your voice.
