University of Dublin Reference Letter - Veterinary Surgeon?

Does the university actually require a reference letter from a board certified surgeon or will they accept a reference letter for a veterinarian who performs every day surgeries like spays and neuters?

Is this just to apply for admission? When I applied through VMCAS I just used letters from a normal small animal vet and a few other professors.

In Europe (at least, in the UK and Ireland), a veterinarian = a veterinary surgeon. It's just different terminology
A reference from a general practice veterinarian should suffice.
