What do you guys think? Add more lower-tiers? Any schools I should add/take off?

Look at the Texas schools as well. It's another application but would be worth it for you. Maybe some Florida schools as well.

3.9 cGPA
3.8 grad GPA (anthropology)

Great LORs (submitting them with post-bacc committee letter), strong ECs, no undergrad research but working in public health research since last October
Goals: urban underserved, homeless and/or latino and immigrant communities (most of ECs focused on this), primary care

Super reaches

Quinnipac
New York Medical College
Pittsburgh
University of Florida
Oregon HSU

I'm not sure if I should try SUNY-Downstate. I'm also late for Texas, I don't know if its even worth it to apply at this point. Suggestions on which to add would be appreciated.

U Puerto Rico-RCM

Stay "alla afuera". The government from the island is near default and the majority of the funding of the UPR system comes from the government bank. I think this can affect the education and tuition cost.

Hey all!!!

I usually just read the threads but I've been very discouraged about the MCAT and conflicted about schools to apply to.

Non-trad/Reapplicant
African American Female
Illinois Resident

Stats:
cGPA: 3.36, sGPA: 3.18
Graduate gpa: 3.87 (MS Medical Physiology at CWRU- I graduate in May 2016)
Old MCATs (2 scores) - bad
New MCAT- Took it June 19th so I will get my score tomorrow

Shadowing + Clinical volunteering : 100 hours
500+ Hours of ECs + non-clinical volunteering- includes mentoring
Worked Part-time Junior and Senior Year (Oh retail)
Teaching during gap year
Currently doing research: 60+ hours

Applying to:
Illinois Schools
HBCUs
CWRU
-I'm applying to more schools but I am trying to decide which ones are best.

My main concern is my MCAT score because my preliminary percentile range is 40-50% due to a very low CARS score. I more than likely will take it again at the end of August, but I am worried about my application being complete at the end of September. Also if I take it again it will be my 4th time taking it.

Any thoughts?

Good luck to everyone applying!!

My thoughts are instead of being worried about being late for taking it at the end of August, you should be more concerned about what you're going to do differently to increase your score. I don't think 4 "bad" scores is a good look. I wish you all the best either way.

Yes, I'm following this very closely, the effects will be terrible for (almost) everyone on the island. I decided before applying that I wanted to go to school in the US, but applied to RCM anyway just in case, so I will likely not submit LORs.

For those of you participating in the 2015-2016 admission cycle, where are you guys planning on applying?

My stats: cGPA: 3.55 MCAT: 31

School list:
Meharry
