I went to a good allopathic (MD) American medical school, I am currently in a US residency for anesthesiology. I want to return to Ireland (I'm a citizen by my parents) to practice.
How do I do it? (I've heard there is a lot of applications)
What is it like to practice in Ireland?

I don't know Ireland's policies, but for the UK refer to the following:

More importantly is the following:

It looks like US training in anesthesiology is considered equivalent to that in the UK, meaning you could apply for registration on the specialist registrar. I'm aware of all this because I'm studying in Ireland and applying for residency in anesthesiology back in the US, but fully intend on returning to Europe when finished!

Hello all,

I am also interested in the possibility of working in Ireland once I am done with residency.
I am currently in a Neurology residency in the US.
Any info on what the process is? Would I need to repeat residency in Ireland?

Thank you in advance!
