The syllabus for the VN boards is quite extensive. I was looking for inputs about what would be a good way to prepare for it. Any input about the exam from previous takers will be appreciated as will be any contributions.

The curriculum according to the ABPN for the 2009 Boards is available at:

http://www.abpn.com/content_outlines.htm in the
2009 Content Outlines for Certification in Subspecialties
2009 Vascular Neurology section.

I know of just one preparatory book:
Vascular Neurology: Questions and Answers by Nancy, M.D. Futrell, and M.D. Dara Jamieson

It seems to have a decent rating on Amazon. Any opinions?

Of course there is the Osler's course in Neurology (Vascular), an MP 3 disc available for $175.00.

There are sundry weekend courses run by various universities. Any specific ones which are better?

The various stroke texts do not cover the course in its entirety.

Any input is appreciated.

It seems all the Vascular neurologists are busy thrombolyzing.............:D

I am taking the board this August. Just started on the Vascular Neurology: Q & A book.

The Osler's review is still available for $175 audio and $59 PDF format.

Is there any input from those who have taken the boards earlier in term of type of questions and the percentage of basic science questions.

Many thanks!
