Hi!

Most veterinary schools are very far from where I live, and I probably won't be able to visit any unless I am extended a few interviews. Can anyone give me an idea of what the schools and the towns they are in are like? Also, what schools extend IS residency to OOS students? I'm trying to use these factors to help me chose some schools to apply to.

Thanks! :D

I would search for threads relating to residency. That info has been compiled before.

You're also probably going to have to narrow down some schools in order to get info about the towns. The school-specific threads should help with what the area is like.

There is a pros/ cons thread that was made which is a good read as well.

I believe the pros/cons thread is called something like "factors when picking a school."

I seem to be struggling to find these threads through the search. Does anyone happen to have any links handy?

Here is one thread that discusses the tuition thing:

Here is a factors for picking schools thread, it might have some info about different schools and things...

I am about to leave, so can't do more searching right now. Honestly, the tuition thing, you need to do some research on your own. Look up vet school websites they should say if they allow for IS tuition after the first year or not.

Thanks! I've been looking up some of the schools I'm interested in on my own, but some of them aren't too clear on whether or not they allow IS tuition for students who were originally accepted as OOS on their websites. Hopefully with these links and an e-mail or two, I'll get all the info I need. :)
