VBB is great stuff. If you haven't checked it out, you should!

My blog isn't really veterinary (can't post pics when you work in research!), but it has lots of animal pictures on it! Most of what is on there is sewing and cross-stitch related stuff.

My blog - Less B****ing, More Stitching!

Hahaha I love the name, and the Herriot-inspired project as well!

Thanks for posting all the blogs everyone! It's really great to peek into life at other schools. I especially love reading yours lei325. Anyone can PM me if they'd like the link to mine! :)

My blog identity is classified information. It...does not give a 'nice' perspective, as one may guess.
Is it relatively famous?

If so, I like your writing even if it's rather snarky

I'm impressed by how many people here blog. I tried a few years ago, but gave up after 2 posts. I hate writing. And I just sound dumb and lame. I have a fairly boring life, at least right now. Maybe when I get back into school/shadowing I'll try again and relay my experiences. But, most likely not.

For now, I just enjoy reading the 20+ that I have bookmarked :p (There were a couple I added from this thread. Thaaaaaanks, there goes the rest of my 'freetime'.)

So LIS, whatever happened to the collaborative blog? ;)

Just read through this thread, and as a c/o 2017 hopeful, I'd love to read a collaborative blog by a group of vet students! I would definitely read it regularly !! Hoping it can be put together :) :luck: :xf:

I'm going to go ahead and link my blog on this thread, since others have too! Some of you may have already seen it from when I posted it on the C/O 2016 thread a day or so ago, though. Here's the link: http://vetstudentadventures.blogspot.com/

Also, a collaborative blog sounds fun! What did happen to that idea? I'd also be willing to contribute if it's ever up-and-running :)

Guess I'll have plenty of time to catch up on some of these today.

This is not entirely unrelated - depends how research-oriented you are- but I have become obsessed with Mollie B. from the MIT blogs. I think her posts are interesting and insightful - she talks about how she got in to MIT (undergrad) and Harvard (grad), and what research life is like

Here is a link to a blog I am writing this semester, posts are updated every Wednesday. It is coming to a close in a few weeks though. Main topics pertain to veterinary public health.

Thanks for reading!

Bumping this thread. Hopefully the collaborative blog will be up and running soon??

I just wanted to plug my own new blog at The Uncommon Veterinarian!

I'm focusing on helping vets and students become more aware of opportunities in veterinary medicine outside of regular clinical practice. Hope you'll all stop by and say hello!

Awesome, thank you! Stay tuned for all sorts of cool opportunities to help make your veterinary dreams a reality...

Really been enjoying Elliot Garber's!

Also, mine is http://prevetchronicles.blogspot.com There are past posts about my time at a tiger rescue, with an equine vet, at a small animal hospital and currently with a dairy vet. I'll be applying next year, so I'm not a vet student yet, but thought I'd post anyway :)

I'm glad you've enjoyed my site! Just explored your blog and am really impressed by your detailed descriptions of such a diverse set of veterinary experiences. Very cool.

Hey everyone! I've just started a blog about a US student going to Vet school in Australia.... It's not to exciting yet since I start school in Feb., but I just wanted to put it out there! And Elliot I love your site!!! I just read your zoo externship post! The giant salamander was freaky and so cool!

Just bumping to ask about international blogs, particularily SGU, St. Matthews, and Dublin. I applied to SGU this year and I'm considering the other two for next year. I feel like blogs help me get a better feel for the school/area and I'd love to get more information. I'm already following jmo's blog, which I really enjoy! Thanks for any suggestions :)

Second that I love reading your site. I keep posting opportunities to our SCAVMA page here at Glasgow.

Realized just how small a world it is when one of my friends said she had gone on a RAVS trip with you and couldn't figure out where I was finding all of these articles. Thank you SDN...making worldly connections! :)

Ha, that's funny. Yes, I've been on RAVS trips with a few Glasgow students -- definitely seem like a good bunch.

Thanks for sharing my links to your SCAVMA page! The more the merrier. I'll be launching my podcast that goes along with the site soon, so keep your eyes out for that too.

I wanted to let all you veterinary blog followers know that I was finally able to launch the first episode of my new podcast! I'm calling it The Uncommon Veterinarian Podcast, and you can listen to it or watch the video on my site here:

http://www.elliottgarber.com/wildlife-veterinarian-and-infectious-disease-researcher-dr-jonathan-epstein/

My first interview is with Dr. Jonathan Epstein, who is a wildlife veterinarian and well-known researcher of emerging infectious diseases.

The podcast should also be available shortly on iTunes, but it's still hanging out in line for approval with them.

Thanks for checking it out!

I saw the email come through earlier about this and I'm excited for it! I will definitely tune in

Bumping this up again- I am interested in following some more blogs!

I started one back in January and it has been super helpful for me to be able to write all my feelings down.

Love your blog! Gives me inspiration!

I recently started my blog http://www.vetschooljournal.blogspot.com. I'm going to do some articles on how I got to vet school (Australia, to America, to getting my BS at 19!) and then of course tons about vet school :) Right now it's just kind of about my life in general.

Hi everyone!

I am shamelessly plugging my new veterinary blog, Watch Out for Poop!

I plan on using my blog to write about my experiences at AVC and vet school in general. My goal is to give future applicants an inside look at a vet student's life, as well as keeping friends and family updated on all the cool stuff I'm doing. Since I haven't actually started vet school yet, I'm currently doing a series on application tips for current and future pre-vets. I just posted two lengthy entries about writing your personal statement. Next I'll be talking about choosing which schools to apply to. So if you're applying this cycle, you should definitely check it out!

I'm also totally open to comments, suggestions, questions, and ideas for future entries, so please feel free to share!

Here's the link! http://watchoutforpoop.blogspot.com/

So, I've decided to give the whole blog writing thing a try :) We'll see how this goes! Feel free to follow along (especially any pre-vets and/or anyone interested in applying to SGU):

SN: I'm just getting it started, so hang in there with me until I get things figured out!

I'm going to start one, but I'm waiting until I have a good name. I started school today, so I should probably pick a name out soon. :D
